GMERS Medical College, Morbi is an academic institution of repute established under The Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society, constituted by The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat and located in the city of Morbi. 

In the entrepreneurship, Govt. of India has launched an ambitious programme of starting 75 new government medical colleges across the country to bring down the doctor-patient ratio – from current 1:2500 to 1:1000 under central government sponsored scheme for establishment of new medical colleges attached with existing district/referral hospital or an institute with the facilities for postgraduate medical education-Phase III.

 

Under this scheme, GMERS Medical College, Morbi was established in the year 2022, and started functioning from November 2022 with a batch of 100 students. District General Hospital, Morbi, with 374 bed (which would be expanded with the subsequent MCI requirements), is attached to the college.
